clean, friendly staff, good menue of food and children menue for early diners (before 7 pm)
room very hot at night could not open window far enough,so did not sleep well.(heater not on)?
The early bird deal in the Verve, albeit we had a very long wait for our desserts.
Our room bathroom was very small and dated and the swimming pool dated in comparison to Ashton Moss. The bar drinks seem more expensive too.
Very comfortable beds. Good size room. Decent shower. Very friendly staff. Bar is a good place to meet up and the prices for food and drinks are very reasonable - (at least they seem reasonbable if you're used to paying prices in the South East)
Very hot and no air con in the bedrooms, but they do have an electric fan. Very noisy from aircraft so not a good idea to open windows if you're trying to sleep. (Male) receptionist gave wrong information about opening time of swimming pool and as a result I wasn't able to use it. Very annoying because I'd chosen the hotel because it had a pool! (The information on the internet is wrong too. The pool opens at 6.30 on weekdays.)
First class in all areas, a good 5 star hotel, rooms very clean, stop again in september
The bed was extremely comfortable, the lady that serviced the room daily went the extra mile by supplying extra bathmats and a shower mat in the bath when she realised that my partner would have trouble getting in and out of the bath.
People were parking in the disabled car parking spaces when they did not have a disabled badge, this really irritates me, I appreciate that the hotel are unable to police this.
Friendly helpful staff
Original room booked as a family room. When we arrived the room was occupied by someone else! We took a non family room instead as we no longer needed the extra beds. The hotel did refund me the difference in cost but not until I asked the following morning. It was not offered which I was disappointed about. Room was of low standard for the price paid. Had been decorated but detail is poor. Overpainted doors, loose door handles , ours came off. Also had to wait 20 minutes for a table for breakfast as the room is too small for all the guests. But they do have room for a Starbucks next to the breakfast area? Generally ok if you need just overnight accommodation but would not recommend for any more than that.
It was a good experience overall, quite young and upbeat. The food was of a high standard, fresh bistro-style with a twist, and desserts a must. Most staff members were friendly and approachable.
The Village Hotel Cheadle was a bit noisy on Friday night and Saturday night until about 12:00pm (due to the noise/ music from the parties in the function suites on the ground floor just underneath the room where we were staying). I noticed that a certain attention to detail which I had found on a previous stay in that hotel was lacking this time: for instance, little touches like a more exciting selection of hot beverages in the room + availability of biscuits would have been welcome. Other minuses: toilettries to the bare minimum (plus no fancy products), no shampoo and no hairdryer in the room. A beauty/ hairdressing salon would have been handy too, especially if you are short on time. As a conclusion, there is a definite potential for the hotel to position itself as a boutique hotel, should it choose to pay more attention to detail.
I thought the hotel was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If we had to find fault it was that after we returned from a party at approximately 12.45am the hotel bar was closed. It would have been nice to have chatted the evening over with the many friends staying at the hotel over a night cap.
Good location to travel onto Manchester. On site swimming pool and spa was very good too.
Staff problems meant we were late getting our breakfast, had to wait a long time for service, that was very poor and not acceptable. Considering the proximity to an airport I could not understand why breakfast on the weekend was from 8am. This is a hotel not a B & B :(
A very friendly hotel situated in a lovely suburb cheadle. Within walking distance of cheadle high street with good facilities for all the family.great value for money
Sofa bed very uncomfortable and the bathroom silcone needs redone but otherwise good
A well placed hotel with pleasant staff. Shame about the corporate colours that make it look dark and unprepossessing. Leisure facilities are good but we didn't think the 'pub' image sat well with the overall layout of the hotel.
The room and the pool
The booking was wrong - my booking confirmation from Booked.net showed 2 rooms, but the hotel had only received a booking from Booked.net for 1 room for 2 people. The hotel charges a £2 fee for paying by credit card. The service in the restaurant was disorganised and slow, yet there were hardly any diners. The restaurant closed at 11 and we were told to leave and take our drinks to the bar. The bar closed at 11:30 and we were told to leave and go to the reception area.
informal nature of hotel and breakfasts were acceptable
bedroom was cold and room heating was non existent...had to go to reception for heater...breakfast /dining area also cold
hotel was very nice, comfy rooms, staff were friendly , food was good in bar and breakfast, swimming pool was warm and clean will use this chain of hotels again
The relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The hotel room was clean and I found desk and restarant staff to be extremely helpful. The WDF showcase i attended went like a dream with no major hitches.Thank you for a rewarding day.
I did not enjoy the tremendous noise from aeroplane traffic.I was awakened a number of times by the extreme noise.Perhaps I am guilty of being a light sleeper.
